ABSTRACT
This paper proposes a six leg
voltage source inverter (VSI) based distributed static synchronous compensator
(DSTATCOM) to compensate voltage swells under linear and nonlinear loads in a
threephase four-wire (3P4W) distribution system. The proposed scheme with
associated control strategy has the capability to mitigate voltage swells under
linear and nonlinear loads and makes the load voltage as balanced sinusoidal.
The performance of the proposed scheme has been verified using MATLAB/ Simulink
platform and detailed results are presented.
